SUSTAINABILITY / FASHION COLLECTION / COLOUR
Textiles developed for a womenswear collection with the purpose is to prolong the lifespan of garments. Focusing on how to change the textiles according to marks of use.
We asked ourselves: How might we create a collection where the clothes contain the solution on the problem of spots and holes?
We want to prolong the use of clothes before washing and discarding. Our goal is to create clothes with a long technical and aesthetic lifespan. We are aware that marks of use like holes and spots are not generally socially accepted. Often you stop using your clothes when it gets marks of use – even though you may still like it. Our collection offers a solution to that. For example: the coat has been made in a pattern of colour that can be ironed unto the fabric. When you buy it, you will get a book of papers with a dark blue colour. These you can easily tear out and transfer the colour unto the place where you got a spot. Eventually the coat will transform from trendy patterned to classic dark blue – following the pattern of your spots.
The collection has been made in collaboration with: Liv Marie Rømer, Marta Heiðarsdóttir, Ragna Hatland
The Design School Kolding afterwards chose to buy the project for use in education about sustainability.
