The material archive is a constant growing collection of found materials and textile samples. I collect materials everywhere I go and the collection is now containing over 500 samples. The samples represents a broad variety of techniques. They range from traditional woven and knitted textiles to leather, fur, plastic and foam. The even more experimental ones are made from fungi, paper pulp or plant material.
Each sample is individually numbered. The numbers refer to my analysis of each sample’s techniques, dyeing/printing methods, materials and colours.
Working with collecting, analyzing and archiving materials creates knowledge and inspiration. In addition, it is a tool for developing concepts, moodboards and colour palettes for my other projects.
